Guest Richard D
For the last several months my interior lights were going wonkey. First the courtesy lights would work intermittently when opening the door, turning them on with the slide switch or key fob would normally work. Now the only part that works is the odometer sometimes. If I supply a ground to the dome light negative terminal all the courtesy lights come on. Looking at the wiring diagram it appears that the body module supplys ground for all interior lights. Since they come on when one of them is given a ground I assume the wiring is ok and the bcm has failed. Before I start throwing parts at it Any other ideas? This is not on the top of my list, tires are first then have the car clayed, polished, detailed. I used to do that myself but I am no longer able. rjfranken
I remember a notion that the outside door handle may have a sensor/lead leading to the instigation of such. B to replace too. padgett
There is a micro switch with a long lead riveted on the OEM handle to turn such on when you lift the handle. Replacements do not have.If you are getting the odo when you lift the handle, it is not the switch.
