Guest ebruns1
Hello,Does anyone have a 1930-31 uncut cowl for sale? It must have the full windshield/front door posts and be in good shape for installation on a station wagon so I believe it has to be from a tudor, pick-up or maybe a vicky(?). Not sure if it can be from a 2-door style body or not, like a roadster. They may have the same dimensions...I'm not sure. Or, does anyone know if someone reproduces the full sheet metal cowls? I have only seen patch panels, not full cowls in the sheet metal catalogs. Need something near central northeast so I can pick up. I would also be interested in trading my cut-off cowl, great shape already fully painted, no rust! Thanks for looking.
jpage
You'll could possibly use a cowl from a '30 - early '31 tudor, fordor, pickup or coupe but they will not have the correct header shape. . Roadster cowls will not work nor will a Vicky because all Victorias have slant windshields. You'd be wise to search out a real and complete station wagon cowl to save alot of trouble later. In July '31 all bodies were change to the slant windshield design. No new '30- '31 cowl sections are available. I think there was a fellow in this section that had a SW cowl for sale a while ago, don't know if he still has it.
Dave Mellor NJ
The wagons also had piano hinges. If you want to use a Pleasantville body I think you need a real Woody cowl. If you're trying to make one at home you might as well use the one you have and just start from the dash.
