TOPCAT
Bought this tach along with some Buick tachometers from a retired AC Delco engineer 30 years ago. On the back is a small white tag stuck to the housing with "4cyl" neatly written in ink pen. The tag looks to have been covered over with a bit of something like clear enamel. The tach was demonstrated to me that it worked when i bought it.It has been in perfect storage ever since.Cosmetically it is perfect,I will post up better pictures tonight.$300.00 shipped in the lower 48 states.Peace WildBill Edited February 17, 2014 by TOPCAT (see edit history)
rocketraider
That's a 64-67 A-body tach. My guess is modified for use with a 4-cylinder- a resistor would do it.
joe_padavano
Considering that Olds didn't have a four cylinder engine when this tach was new (production or experimental), I find it doubtful that it is really a "factory experimental" piece. Regular versions of this tach sell for $15 - $50, with the rest of the housing included.
