Guest A62Tim
Hi from across the pond,In 1943 (ish) my father did RAF pilot training in Texas where this picture was taken. Can anyone identify the car? I'm thinking Buick but I am a Limey!ThanksTimIf it were a Land Rover I'd have no problem!!

Guest A62Tim
Being English, is there a model name? or did Buick just make one car? i.e. in modern terms Ford make several models and variants
Fleek
There were many models and series in 41. I am no Buick expert, but it appears to be a larger car. I am sure some of the Buick boys will chime in soon, but until then here is some interesting info. http://www.harwoodperformance.bizland.com/1941buick/1941_buick_buyers_guide.htm
Guest A62Tim
A useful link, thanks. Unfortunately not all the pictures are displayed. The 41 at the bottom of the page looks close but only has 4 vents under the hood whereas the one I'm interested in has 5. The '41 Century series 60 looks close too but they seem to have "Flutes" to the rear of the rear wheel! At least I'm pretty convinced its a '41 Buick! dictator27
I'm not a Buick expert, but it is definitely a 41and I think I can say with reasonable certainty that it is a "big" series model. The long hood, five "portholes" under the hood and the distance from the rear of the fenderline to the front door opening all say Century or Roadmaster.Terry
Fleek
A62Tim, if you go back to the main AACA forums section and scroll down, you will find a large section devoted to Buicks. You might repost there and I would bet you will have all the answers you need and probably more. They are very active and knowledgable.

Dave Henderson
Probably a Century. 60 series. Looks like the body that was also available on the Special, 40 series, that used it on a shorter wheelbase. . The Century always paired the big engine with the small body. "Century" implied it would do 100.
