abelincoln
Well, I finally got a 0.060 over clean block and few hundred parts from Egge. My Ford Motor Company "Repair Manual Lincoln V12 Engines" says torque main bearing nuts to 60-70 ft-pounds. This seems low to me. What torque have the rest of you used or recommend?ThanksAbe
peecher
Abe, the 60 t0 70 ft-pounds is correct. I've done a few of these. You may have to "tweak" those castle nuts a bit in order to get the lock wire thru them. With the nuts on the rear main cap "snug" bump the crankshaft fore and aft befor torquing the nuts. This will help assure you get a correct end play reading. Edited January 23, 2014 by peecher (see edit history)
