HistoryBuff
I have seen this car in person, it's pretty radical, maybe beyond what Bugatti would have done but at least better looking than the other postward Bugattis up to 1956.I read that the Virgil Exners, father Sr. and son Jr., got the chassis for free from Ghia since they were owed $2500 but then how much was the bodywork? Today that would be probably $250,000.Also is it recorded what price the Exners sold it for to Thomas Barrett III before Barrett really got going on his auctions(maybe this was before it was the Barrett-Jackson auction? )
