auburnseeker
I have a friend who is looking for a source to get new rear axle lock washers for his late 20's or early 30's Oldsmobile with wood spoke wheels. Unfortunately I don't have the exact year as it's 3rd party information but the axle appears to be 1 inch in diameter. This washer has one tab to go in a key way in the axle and the other tabs to lock around the nut once it's tightened. He said it appears to be about 2 inches overall diameter. Please let me know if you know of a source for them. They probably have a more current application in the industrial world.
nickelroadster
I think I would just make these washers. Even if you don't have a lot of fancy metal working tools, it would not be difficult to fabricate them.
Layden B
In the old days any machine shop or auto repair worth their salt had one of these kits. The tab washer on top is a modern one that you should be able to get from your local bearing supply house. It may be metric size but you should be able to get one close enough to work fine. If not click on my name and send an email.
auburnseeker
Thanks for the reply. There is a Bearing company in a nearby city. I'll send him in that direction. If anyone has a couple they want to sell outright just let me know. Thanks for the help.
