Kblake
Please help! My winter project is a 1941 Dodge Luxury Liner 4 Door sedan that has been sitting in storage for 30 years (longer than I've been alive). When the car was put away in storage the engine was taken out and rebuilt but then never put back in the car. What I thought would be a simple "plug and chug" project is becoming difficult mainly due to missing or misplaced parts by my father and grandfather. One item that I've had absolutely no luck finding are the running boards. I've contacted all the major salvage yards that advertise in Hemmings and no one has them. I need both sides of the car. I'm told that the car came with them but my family has no recollection as to where they were placed so I'm looking to buy a set. Anyone that could offer any type of advise as to where to contact that might have a set for sale I'd be very appreciative!
keiser31
You might try Wildcat Auto Wrecking...all MoPars.http://www.wildcatmopars.com/The good thing about your situation is that running boards were an option in 1941, so if you don't have them, nobody will be the wiser. ply33
Buckeye Rubber reproduces running boards for some old Chrysler products. You might want to check there.
Rusty_OToole
If they were an option maybe his car never had them.
keiser31
If they were an option maybe his car never had them. That's kinda what I was thinking. I see in my books that the chrome strip on the exterior edge of the running board is moved onto the splash apron/rocker panel when the running boards were not ordered. It was a 1940 option as well. Kblake
I'll be calling Buckeye on Monday! My car had running boards originally as it still has the brackets for the board and the holes for the attachments to the body. So I'm still looking for a set! Of the 1941s I've seen they all have running boards, I'd be interested in seeing one without them if anyone has one to share pictures.

Old Betty
I'm in search of Running boards and a few other items for a 1941 Dodge Luxury Liner Business Coupe. Does any one know where would be the best place to start?

You should probably start a new post for your parts wanted as this may get lost here.
willysnut
Just wanted to say Hi, and hope you find what you're looking for. I too have a couple '41 Dodges, and one is a 3 window business coupe. Seems that the '41 Dodges are hard to find parts for. What do you need besides running boards? Here's a picture of mine. Still an old original, and has some issues yet. Been driving it some, but today it developed a serious engine noise. Have to look into it.
