Guest eldress9
All I know is that the image, and therefore the car, predates August 1928, when the man shown pretending to drive the car died. The picture was taken in the Chicago area. Any help would be very much appreciated!
nzcarnerd
Don't know what it is yet but there are some distinctive features; the three hood latches, the suicide front door paired with conventional rear doors and the beading around the top of the body. It looks to be a medium sized six from around 1918 - probably a competitor for Buick.
nzcarnerd
Had a look at some books. I think this is a Studebaker from the 1919 to 1921 period - either a Model EH Special Six or a Model EG Big Six. Not sure if they both used that style of door handle. The daughter of the woman in the back seat thought it might be a Buick, but I wasn't sure if that was accurate since she was very young at the time.
