tcslr
What is the proper torque for the lug bolts on '29 chrysler? Looked in the op manual and no reference. Thanks in advance, Tom
ply33
I don't think they published torque specifications until the mid to late 1930s and those are mostly for engine assembly. As time went by more and more things had torque specs given until today it seems every fastener on the car is specified.I think the lug bolts were pretty standard for many years and the '36-42 Plymouth factory service manual lists between 58.5 and 66.5. Which I've been puzzled by, why spec it to 0.5 in a range of 8? I usually just tighten the bolts in a star pattern until they feel right. For more information see: http://www.ply33.com/Repair/torque
