sandtrooper
Here are 2 gears found in a cigar box with a very similar makeup. 20 teeth, 4 3/8 inches diameter and about 1 /4 inch thick. Hole in center a tight 7/8 inch diameter. One is non-ferrous...appears to be cast with brass plating, worn and slightly cupped. The other is ferrous metal, stained with little wear and appears to be milled. Would appreciate greatly any skinny on these. thanks Edited January 2, 2014 by sandtrooper stats (see edit history)
trimacar
Possibly early speedometer cable drive gears, when large gear was mounted to front wheel and drove a smaller gear such as these.....up to about 1915....
