Beltfed
Here's a pic of my 1938 Zephyr front bumper. The center "spear" or guard looks like the other two. Have not seen it on other '39 Zephyrs. Is it an option or what? Thanks
John Murphy
The 1940 Chassis Parts book shows a 96H 18420 as being a guard front bumper special equipment being available for the HB and 86H model Lincolns. So evidentallly they made the 39 96H center bumper guard as also usable on the earlier year cars. A similar listing for a center rear bumper guard for the HB, 86H and 96H cars uses the same 96H 18420 (39 Lincolns) for their back bumpers. A versatile part being able to use for front and rear three model year cars.
