JFranklin
I just removed the wood from my 1928 Hupmobile Front door, what a job it was! The wood framing is built & installed at the factory before the door is fully finished with a flat steel piece screwed onto the skin side of the wood frame and then the door edge is folded over this and crimped. I have done the front door in my Model A Ford and it was never secured this well from the factory. I was really surprised and it was a lot of work to save the wood for a pattern. I will need to replace the wood in the header and some of the top bows but I thought the door would be my first move.I am still looking for a hood panel like the one shown for the drivers side.
