1927 1/2 Graham Brothers Truck- Quest for Information

So we inherited a 1927 1/2 Graham Truck. It's titled as a graham; all numbers match. It does not run and is despite need of gaskets before we can start to rebuild her. Even the wood is original. This was my Dad's brothers truck. It has lived in a garage for years and while it ran at most recent the 70's, it blew a head gasket and was parked until we went and got it last year. It has sat in our garage and we have slowly taken it apart labeled all parts, bagged all bolts... it has been a serious project just to get it to a frame.

Now while it is plated, titled ect as a Graham, the headlights and such are stamped DB (I am assuming Dodge Brothers, correct me if I'm wrong) So it seems the truck is a Graham Brothers/Dodge Brothers Hybrid.

What I do know:

It appears to be a delivery truck of sorts.

Its a 4cy engine with a standard trans.

It appears the factory paint is Brown.

The wood in the 'bed' is painted Blue.

There are hints of blue paint on the engine.

So really I don't know anything. I've attached a few photos of the truck, primarily the engine. While ANY information is appreciated... I really need to know the specifics on this engine. Even a best guess is better than what I have. Domestics are not something I know anything about but am VERY willing to learn, and would love to see this truck restored to 100% factory originals.

i own a 29 Dodge Bros truck. There are some similarities to mine even though mine is a DA 6.

Your truck appears to be similar to the DDT 3/4 ton noted in the attached reference. The "E" noted refers to place truck was built. That would be Evansville Indiana. Graham and Dodge Bros in these years only major difference was the badges and nameplates.

Be sure and post a tread in the the Dodge Bros portion of this site. There is a load of information available. The pictured truck belongs to a DB Club member in No Calif.

i believe the ad is showing the 1 ton model. Note the iron spoke rims.

Samanta: You have a fairly complete and decent shape truck. I feel that your truck is a Graham Bros. 3/4 ton. We have a 1927 Graham Bros. sales literature booklet that shows most of the models they offered. Our 1928 Graham Bros. 3/4 ton canopy express was purchased from the grandson of the original owner. Our truck was used by Howard Biery at the Mount Troy Cemetery for 30 years before it was retired and then stored in garages owned by the descendants of Howard. We purchased the truck in 2003. Attached are some photos of our restored truck. Your engine is the same as ours--a Dodge Brothers fast four motor. I would be glad to help you with other information if you are interested. Hey! Minicoopergirly.....

I have a 1927 Dodge Brothers Screen side, basically the same as what you have, only with a Dodge Brother's Logo on it instead of the Graham Brothers logo. Attached are some photos of our truck, more can be found in the gallery or if you send me an email request I will forward what ever I have. We do have some misc parts. Our restoration was a ground up with both left untouched and was completed in 2001. It is restored as a Paddy Wagon as this was the type of transportation truck our department used to transport prisoners to State prison from county jail.
