HistoryBuff
I use dto see this odd Rolls Royce, with a boattail body and hidden headlights, with solid brass trim, tooling Sunset Strip in Los Angeles in the early 70s. Does anyone recall who owned it then and what the asking price was? Apparently this was commissioned by Lou Ritter , a NYC furrier, immediately after the war and delivered in 1947. Ritter had great appetites for cars and women, not necessarily in that order. Has there been any articles on the net about him? Also I'd like to know what the lowest price was that the car was ever offered for in an ad? The last I heard this remarkable art-deco styled Rolls was in a private collection. It has won class honors at Pebble Beach. About that Sunset Strip story I'd like to now how low I could have bought it for around when I used to see it tool by, between 1970-72.
