Desoto engine colors 1940's SIlver and black and what?

OK all you experts. what colors are you using or expect to see under the hood? Silver engine, flat silver, shiny, semi-gloss--- what? I see every engine just a little different. AND I see ONE Desoto illustration showing the intake manifold is black, but think this is just to help identify it in the illustration. Details like fan, gloss or semi? Oil filter canister, cream color with orange top? Plug wire holders gloss black or? distributor ????? Generator ends natural or did the paint the entire unit?

If I am doing this, may as well do it as correct as I can get agreements on..
