BrushGuy
Most guys that are restoring Brush cars are all looking for the same parts, steering, engine, rear end, and the hard one, a transmission. I know of several who are needing a complete transmission or parts. One of the Brush club members, Bill Damewood is researching the possibility of reproducing the entire transmission unit. There has been some pretty good interest so far....several would purchase. If you are restoring a car and in need of one, please post here or e-mail me privately. This appears to be totally doable, and cost would be based on number of units ordered. The cost appears to be somewhere in the $3500 to $5000 range, The more units the lower the cost. BrushGuy
I believe the unit which will be copied is from a Model D.What I was talking about with Bill is that the unit would also come with a complete shifting mechanism.
BrushGuy
I spoke with Bill Damewood Friday and the transmission project is moving forward. He will pick up the pattern unit in a couple of weeks and the company which will be doing the casting and machining is ready to go. I will add information as it becomes available.
