dberkham
I own one and am in the process of restoring it. My paint guy did an excellent job on restoring the original paint but struggled with replacing the split windshield. He finally gave up after going through 4 pieces of glass. The glass is cracked in the corners on the top where the two pieces meet and are joined by the moulding. Chrome strip does not sit properly on the moulding (you can see the moulding bulging out) and chrome surrounding windshield is out of alignment so that wiper on drivers side gets stuck on the chrome. I think the wrong size moulding was used. Any tips from someone who has replaced their split windshield. I am going to take the car to a different body guy. Thanks. crazycars
I can tell you that the Steele windshield gasket does not fit exactly and I had to modify the holes in the center strip portion for it to work.
AdW13
we picked up a 50 chrysler royal for prts for our 51 windsor traveler. The windshield is different so we dont need it. maybe the moulding from that would work or be a good cheap spare....if you want it make an offer. You can see the car on here....or I can get better pics.
