NickST
Hi, my 51 Super "Daisy" is playing up this morning , turned on ignition pumped the gas , then turned off to repeat. But she is staying on in off position showing gauges on and turning over when pressing the throttle . Any ideas anyone please would be most grateful. Thank you .Nick. Buicknutty
You said the "off" position, what the about the "lock" position? Either one should shut the ignition off, just you need the key to turn it on from "lock". Check the wiring near the switch under the dash, and see any insulation has frayed and is shorting. It could be the switch too, but I've found them to be quite reliable, my bet would be on something else in the circuit. Did you disconnect the battery in the meantime so that the points don't burn? old-tank
Can you turn it off by turning to the off position? Will it actually start in the off position or just turn over? My guess: starter relay or voltage regulator sticking contacts.Willie
