1933 Oldsmobile L 33

I bought my 1933 olds back yesterday. I need to replace the tires and torn about replacing the whitewalls or putting black walls on the car. I like the way it looks with the white walls not sure how it will look with black walls.

white wall is the only way to go in my opinion, also trim rings. beautiful car. if i live long enough i would like to have an L-36.my grandfather had one new.

Negative on the whitewalls. Black bias ply would be my choice.

The only opinion which should matter would be your own. You are the one who will have to live with the decision.

Happy with my decision to go with the black walls.

I'm a big fan of wide whites, only on cars of the late forties through 1961. I think cars of the twenties and thirties should have black wall tires. Your car looks great with the new tires. Just a great looking car with the proper thirties look. Can you post additional pictures of the car? Do you know the history of the car? Thanks. Rick

As far as the history of the car, I bought it from a guy in Connecticut who had purchased it in the early 70s. In 1974 it was back on the road and he owned it until about three years ago. He purchased it right over the border in Rhode Island. Somebody had been using it to commute back and forth from Rhode Island to a University in Connecticut.

Looks wonderful, and I'm thinking that the blackwalls are very nice on this car. Now if it had been painted black, would you go with the same decision? Just curious.

Yes I think an all black car with black tires would really look nice.
