scalptrader
Presented for your consideration is a very unusual road map. Patented in 1940, this Microscopic Revolving Map is still in its original box. Made to mount around the steering column in an automobile, I have also read that it could have been carried on the belt of a policeman. Contains a globe which is viewed through a magnified and lighted glass window. Dial is turned to view area needed. Is also set up for illumination, with a small light bulb inside. The original 6v bulb has been replaced with a 12v bulb and the lead wire has been replaced and tested as working. Mounting brackets are still intact. Globe shows the United States with the major US and state roads during 1940. Invented by C. A. Marks, Elkhart, Indiana. Box measures 4 1/2" wide. Please feel free to email with any questions or for more information. This is the type of accessory that really differentiates cars and is a wonderful display addition to anyone's collection! Have you ever seen one before? Asking $1,250. Would be delighted to see this go to a good home and adorn the steering column of a mighty classic or joins someone's display.
