John
Ran across this tool while cleaning up the garage--must have been in a box lot buy from long ago. Does not appear in 1962 and 1964 K-M passenger car edition catalogs, but is in the 1965 price list. Application probably goes back to late 50's, maybe for a truck engine?Anyone have more extensive K-M catalogs that can identify application? Thanks!John
John
It's made up in 3 pieces: the cylinder (J-7869-1) has 4 two inch long slits cut in one end; the knurled nut (J-7869-2); and the rod (J-7869-3) with a tapered end piece and threaded to accept the knurled nut on other end. When assembled, tightening the knurled nut expands the cylinder. The cylinder is .830 OD, and the tapered end piece is .800 OD. When tightened the slit end of the cylinder easily spreads to .900 or more.
