MrEarl
An interesting item currently running on eBay. The writing on the back of the picture makes reference to a bug, which was what racers of the day were called due to their looking like a "bug", but it is unclear as to whether this is a Buick or a F***. Anybody know? the body lines don't look "Buick" but what does this 50's Buick guy know? If a Buick, where is it today? The Old Guy
Mr Earl The "original " Buick Bug is in the Buick Gallery of the Sloan Museum in Flint. You probably saw it at either the 2003 BCA national running down the drag strip in Milan MI or at the 2008 meet when it was parked in front of the Sloan Museum. There were 2 original "bugs" built and they have 622 CI 4 cylinder engines
Jolly_John
Hi, Joe (The Old Guy). Hey...don't I remember you "bugging" around the show grounds at a past Flint BCA national meet, driving one of the original Buick Bugs? I recall that the exhaust sound was very impressive. Best, John
The Old Guy
John I drove it until they blew the engine ( I told them it had a rod loose) They got it fixed thanks to Nicoli Bulgari , and it won't be driven anymore.
JohnD1956
Glad that it got fixed. Sad that it won't be seen in it's glory anymore.
