davidyavidy
Have a friend who just bought this PU to make into a driver. The former owner cut off the capillary tube for the temp gauge about 3" from the back of the gauge. Can these things be repaired by soldering a new capillary tube to the back of the gauge? Any ideas of who could do that repair?Dave
Guest murraydave
I have seen them repaired. I would go to the advertisers in Hemmings and also check online at Stovebolt.com.
Guest cmkruse
The tube is filled with ether and once opened the "fluid" is lost. New temp guages are available from most of the 47-53 chevy truck vendors. It would probably be cheaper to replace it than to have it repaired due to high labor rates for such repairs.
