Tim Wolfe
I need to know where I can buy new rubber mats for around the clutch/brake/steering shaft and the gearshift/parking brake handle for a 1930model 70 coupe. Steele Rubber parts will not fit, I tried them. Where did others buy theirs from? Does anyone have a part or model number for these ? Any help would be appreciated. HarryJ
Tim, I have a 1928 series "72" and as far as I know no one has reproduced these rubber parts. The ones for my car are/were rubber with steel cores; I have planned to recast these myself using some pourable/castable rubber and producing a mold using the old brittle dry rotted original or milling out one utilizing rapid prototyping techniques. Tim Wolfe
No luck there, sell the same parts as Roberts Motor Parts . No matt material with the steel insert.
Narve N
Someone has done the job themselves previously, from the pages of this Forum:This fellow did a very thorough job on a Series 72 sedan and documented his reproducing of floor rubbers. Furthermore I have collected these photos of what appears to be an original Chrysler-branded floor mat and my own gear/brake reinforcement draft seal rubber.. Tim Wolfe
I've been told that Steele had the parts I need several years ago but no longer offers them. Just my luck. Still need them if anyone knows of a source! Thanks
