Guest shoebone
Hello All! I received this car trunk from a friend but I have no idea what car it may have come from or what it's worth. It's in very good condition. The front flips down and there's 2 vent holes in the back. I'll download more pics after I downsize them.. Thanks!! CarlLaFong
It would be kinda nice to have some dimensions.
Guest shoebone
Sorry, 32"x16"x 15.5 deep-the interior is a green vinyl type cloth
Dave Mellor NJ
Nice trunk but I don't think anybody will know for sure what car it came from. It is certainly from a big fancy car, probably a Classic sedan.

Guest shoebone
Top emblem reads +++Tronick Tourist Trunk++ Bottom reads "The covering of this trunk is genuine Dupont Fabrikoid washable/waterproof To use this label on material not Fabrikoid is a Penal offense" (Dupont was serious about it's Fabrikoid!) I've been to the Tronick home page, but no luck. We have a 70' Morris Minor flatbed and my husband wants to put it on the back as a toolbox. (someone stop him!! LOL)

CarlLaFong
There were trunks that were built for specific cars and there were generic trunks, offered in several sizes, to fit a range of cars. I suspect yours is the latter style.
keiser31
I must say that of all of the trunks I have seen, yours is the most elaborate. Must be for a very high end car.

West Peterson
With all of the protective hardware on the corners, I would date it to the mid-1920s.
Hudsy Wudsy
Shoebone, tell your husband that all of us burly, masculine guys think that it would be a wonderful piece for you to store your shoes in! (As opposed to a tool box).

Dave Henderson
Having a fold down front panel is an indication that it may have had fitted luggage within originally.

Neil G
errrrrr,Where? I've scoured E-Bay and can't find it. Can you tell me the listing?search antique car trunk, antique auto trunk, potters trunk, vintage car trunk etc, you have to get creative, I found several just now. If you want to see if they sell go advanced search and include completed auctions, most don't sell.
