Getting starter off 41 connie

TWO LONG bolts that with 7/16" heads that go though starter into mounting holes in oil pan.

Be Very careful to hold entire unit together upon removal, as these bolts are all

that hold the assembly together.

I saw those but was afraid they might hold everything in. Do you think I could loosen them some just enuf to veg a flat file between the mating surfaces to improve grounding. ?

The starters attach the same way on all V12's. There is supposed to be a small bracket that attaches to a pan bolt that the inner/upper starter bolt goes thru. This is to stablize the starter. I think you'd have a little trouble working around the starter drive cleaning up the pan surface where the starter attaches if you try to do this with the loosened starter still in place ? By the way if you need that little bracket it's the same for a flathead Ford and available from someone like Mac's.
