Ian Hayhurst
Has anyone had experience disassembling this type of switch? Should the lever pull off or is it pinned? Do the tabs need to be bent on the back?thank youIan HayhurstClaremont, ON
28 Chrysler
On my Model 62 the lever looks to be the same and it has a screw. You have to bend the tabs and remove the contact plate to get to the screw.Try to bend them as little as possible, and gently pry the the hole disk out. These handles are very fragile (bridle) so if it is stuck use plenty of penetrating oil.I hope you have the fiber back plate with the terminals. Ian Hayhurst
Hi '28--thanks for the tip. I figured that would have to be the next step, but thought I would ask first in case I was missing something. Yes, we have the rest of the assembly with the fiber plate & terminals. Here's hoping we don't snap the tabs.Ian
