Maxwell identification

There's a period photo online from one of our public libraries showing an nice tourer. The notes say it is a Woman with her new Maxwell car and dog, Shoalhaven, ca. 1920 / photographer Cyrus S. Moss

I have been trying to identify the year and model of the vehicle and would appreciate help with this one as I am perplexed by it -

• the slanted bonnet louvres - do not appear on the photos of Maxwells I've looked at
  
• the nickel radiator surround - again most of the period photos of Maxwells I've looked at don't show this
  
• the windscreen frame - sits across the cowl not curved over it and swept up at the sides as the 1919-20 models appear to, so could it be for a Maxwell of 1916-1917?
  
• but if that early there doesn't seem to be the right curve of the cowl/firewall?
  

In fact I began to wonder if it's a Maxwell at all so am throwing the identity question out to the Forum community for input.

It must be considered too that this photo was taken in Australia, it is quite likely that the car has a locally-built body.

Appreciate any thoughts.
