Guest Monte
Hello there,I bought in February a fantastic, unmolested, totally sound and original 1947 Buick Roadmaster Sedanette in Paris. It was sleeping in a private collection for about 40 years!I made it running. It drives like a dream! What a superb carriage!I am now searching for the following:- right size white wall tyres (anyone can suggest me a good provider, prepared to ship 4 tyres to Europe?),- a water pump (the old one works, but we never know...),- water hoses,- windscreen wiper rubbers,- a carburettor kit.I am posting here a photo of the plate. Some "Buick guru" could help me to read all those codes?Soon more photos of the car, if someone is interested. Many thanks!Marco Edited November 25, 2012 by Monte (see edit history)
1939_Buick
A very nice car. We like photosAdding images to an album in the MyProfile menu (right hand side) is best in viewFor parts Bob's Automobilia is a good supplier44617542 is the frame (chassis) number. Those screws do not look original. Usually on the frame (at least for pre war Bucks)76S = model type 47 470747 = 19474 = Buick70 = 70 series (not 100% sure: others will know more)7 = Body type (not 100% sure: others will know more)BK - 560BK = factory where is was made (not 100% sure: others will know more)560 = 560th car made in that plantTrim No 92 ?Paint No 01 ? Guest Monte
Thank you for the info. I posted some photos of my Sedanette in an album of My Profile.
Pete Phillips
Trim #92 is gray Bedford cloth. Paint code #01 is black.76-S is the model number, the 70-series being the Roadmasters, and the 6-S meaning it is a two-door fastback sedanet. You need to join the Buick Club and get the monthly magazine with parts advertisements, etc. www.buickclub.org Pete Phillips, BCA #7338Leonard, Texas

Guest Rob McDonald
Spectacular car! I love the big F for France on the trunk lid.
cengiz
Great car!Just guessing; but the plant code BK can be Belgium. If your car has original glass, you should be able to tell by the markings on them if it is a Belgian assembly. Is your speedo in kms or miles? Guest Monte
Thank you for the compliments I received about my car. I will post more info and pictures at the begin of January.Just another request: the radiator is leaking. What do you suggest? A new radiator? Or to repair the original one? As the car is so original and unmolested, I prefer to keep it as original as possible. At "Bob's Automobilia" don't have radiators.Thank you and a Merry Christmas to everyone reading this tread. jscheib
Monte,I would think you could find a repair shop over there for repair. If you need one that could be rebuilt, you might find one here, but doubtful you wil find a NOS unit. I would think a shop over there would be able to repair because they guys that did mine immigrated from Italy some years ago.John
sean1997
446175424 = Kansas City, KS4617542 = sequential number unique to car, range for Kansas City was 4536001 to 477487047074 = Buick7 = Series 70 (Roadmaster)07 = 2-door sedanet, 6-passengerBK = Kansas City, KS560 = body number, starting at 1 for each model at each plantThe location of the frame serial number plate and the use of screws seams correct to me.
