Dan Marx
Another find. What year Olds does this grease cap fit? Inside threads are in good shape. Thanks
nickelroadster
Need the material it is made of and the inside dimensions. I think it is probably one of the 30 series from the twenties. How thick is it? Is it two piece?
Dan Marx
Made of aluminum, single piece, 2 5/8 in ID; 2 7/16 inch thread ID; 2 inch tall. Thanks for the reply.
nickelroadster
I am guessing a little but I think that this goes to a 24-26 model 30. In later years the hubcaps were somewhat flimsier and had the word Oldsmobile spelled out.
Guest stephen48
Jack Martells book "Antique Automotive Collectibles' has a photo of an Olds hubcap that looks like this one and it is listed as 1920 .
nickelroadster
I don't think it is a 1920 hubcap . Through 1923 Olds used a two piece hubcap that used a cap on top of a sombrero shaped cover. These had a cap somewhat similar to what is shown but all of them had outside threads. Those inside threads look to fit and are the right size to fit a wheel hub, not a sombrero shaped inner hubcap.
