I'm posting the pictures separately so there will be no confusion between the pictures...my confusion, that is...

I know it's a Buick, and I'm pretty sure it's a Roadmaster, my father's favorite, but what year is it. It was taken in March of 1952. many thanks, B

From the looks of the trim down the side and the glimpse of one of the portholes, it appears to be a 1951. One of the Roadmaster Riviera models. Top of the line and a beautiful car.

The sweepspear looks the same on Special, Super and Roadmaster Rivieras but the window sill moulding, which drops down onto the door and quarter panel, is Roadmaster-only. The chrome filler in the C-pillar is common to the Super and Roadmaster but not the Special. (I like that extra "railing" around the bumper of the Roady below, although it's probably aftermarket.)

I'm with Robert and GG: your photo shows a '51 Roadmaster - and a terrified child.
