Guest Jerica
I was recently out yardsaling and came across what I thought was an old brass lantern. After a little poking around I discovered that it was actually an early 1900's headlight. On the wick wheel it says (E.M. & Co - Made in USA) but after looking I found that the Edward Miller and Company made several burners and wick wheels that were used by other companies. There are no other marks on the lamp but I would really like to know who made it and approximately what year. If anyone can give me any clues I would appreciate it. drwatson
Hi, It's a "brass side lamp". They mounted near both sides of brass era auto windshields: early 1900's to mid teens. Makers usually left their mark, but not all. You'll see lots by googling 19xx brass era cars, side lamps etc. Usually not found in such good shape.
