keiser31
Someone on another site had this photo of a 1935 DeSoto Airflow. They say the writing on the back of the photo says, "1935 DeSoto Airflow with a 1934 Chrysler Airflow bumper". I say that the bumper is a 1929 Buick bumper. Am I correct? Here are the 1935 DeSoto Airflow, 1929 Buick and 1934 Chrysler Airflow respectively. Which bumpers match?? Manuel
The first Airflows had the separate/individual bumper bars. As did the 34 Caddys. It was all part of the aeroplane/streamlining look.Manuel in Oz
Dave@Moon
I'd say that bumper looks flatter than the 1934 Chrysler bumper, and it has raised pins on the end that the Chrysler bumper lacked. I agree it is probably a 1929 Buick bumper, or something very similar.
nzcarnerd
It certainly looks like a '29 Buick bumper but as most makers did not supply bumpers as standard until about 1929 it could also be an aftermarket item from one of the many bumper makers.
