Vintman
Hi, I dont recognise this emblem. Looks a bit like Cadillac, but not quite. Photo is from Germany. Car would be cca 1929-31. I dont recognise that radiator top either. Have spent some time on this one. Help please.RegardsVintman (UK)www.svvs.org
Ivan Saxton
Definitely not a Cadillac. The pressed shape should be familiar to someone who knows. The badge may have similarity to Rickenbacker, perhaps?
keiser31
I don't think it's American. The emblem has a Cadillac look to it, but the stripes go the opposite direction.
Craig Gillingham
I'm pretty sure that's a German Bosch head light.
keiser31
I'm pretty sure that's a German Bosch head light.Or maybe Lucas...
Craig Gillingham
I'd still say it's a Bosch, that U shape pattern in the central circle of the glass is distinctive. I'm not sure if Lucas had that on their flat glass headlamps, they certainly had that pattern on the later curved glasses. Guest Casper Friedrich
I'd say a German make. In the late 1920s many of them looked lke Detroit-products. The Adler eight and larger sixes come immediately to my mind
Vintman
Hi,Thanks for all your inputs. I have done a few hours on German/Austrian cars but no luck so far. Not a logo of any of the better known companies. Any other suggestions welcome.RegardsVintman
pepcak
looks like an Audi :-)Audi Worldwide > Company > History > Audi Type SS "Zwickau" Pullman saloon, 1929I am also surprised with logo, but being no expert I take it as is. Everyday you learn something new.We have to remember, that famous 4 rings Audi has today had different meaning before the WW2 - it stood for Auto Union trust that incorporated Audi, Horch, DKW and Wanderer. And yes, the Rickenbacker connection is there too :-) Edited April 28, 2012 by pepcak (see edit history)
Leif Holmberg
pepcak, you seem to nailed it with Audi.I was looking at Marmon, close but not right. Leif in Sweden. Edited April 28, 2012 by Leif Holmberg (see edit history)

Vintman
Hi,Had contact from my enquirer in Stutgart who has now added the following: Thank you very much for your help, thanks also to your contributor from Prague for his excellent work. The badge on the radiator is actually the town of Zwickau's coat of arms:Zwickau - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia RegardsVintman
