What kind of engine is this, what kind of car or truck or ?. Came from old timer that passed away. See photos. Has hand crank, has engine primers next to plugs, I never seen an engine like this , and my friends haven't either, thanks, hupps4ever

Larry, The valves and valve seats screw out of the casting in the Buick. Green engine at top has plugs that are unscrewed to allow access to the top of the valve which can then be removed thru the hole. The plugs have threaded holes in center of each, typically a spark plug screwed into one and a priming cup into the other for each cylinder.

I want to thank everyone for their help--it has been comfirmed to be a 1915 +/- Maxwell--with all the main and rod caps missing!
