Vintman
Hi all,Enquiry from France but photo is from USA of a car turning over on its roof. Seems to be an action photo and is not taken horizontally. Enquirer would like to know make and year. I have also 'righted' the car for easier identification. Perhaps the gap in the waistline at the back may help somebody. Thanks and regardsVintman (UK)www.svvs.org
Guest Casper Friedrich
Quite small, but I have a strong feeling of an early 30s Ford-product. 1932-37 Dagenham-built model Y, "Junior" Edited March 22, 2012 by Casper Friedrich (see edit history)
Vintman
Hi Casper,My first thought was a Y but what would that have been doing in USA?? Made in Dagenham and in Europe but not the States.Any other thoughts for a US car??RegardsVintman
nzcarnerd
Not a Ford because it has fore-and-aft semi elliptic springs. They are on something of an angle though which might be a clue. The giveaway for most cars of that era is the body swaging. I wonder if this might be a Rockne.

Vintman
Hi Folks,I think NZ may have it!! While the photo is poor and it is difficult to pull out details, the picture has many similarities to the car shown below: right wide waistline (perhaps the 'gap' in my photo is a shadow), smallish rear window, high rear panel over petrol tank, two piece bumper set, angled spare tyre, wheel size in proporton, wire wheels, small wheelhub covers etc. Pity cannot find photo from a lower angle to see the underside. Thanks NZ !RegardsVintman Edited March 23, 2012 by Vintman (see edit history)
