Thuringen 1936

Hi all,

I think Pepcak has the answer. I had considered Fiat and Opel initially but looked at them more carefully after Kaiser’s comments and discounted Opel. Although both had scalloped bulkheads, Opel did not have the central ridge in the bonnet. Also the badge is round and dark, not oval, with largish writing suggesting the Fiat was between 1925 - 1929. While it probably is an early 514, because this is German registered, it could be the Fiat 521 as these were made in Fiat-NSU plant in Heilbronn. There seems very little on photographs to distinguish the 514 from the 521 on the large four door saloons with three windows each side, but the 514 is supposed to be a compact and the people are relatively large in comparison. So guess it must be a cca 1929 Fiat 514 Saloon.

Regards and thanks to all
