The National Motor Museum is a few miles away: seven? Lord Montagu is still with us and first started by putting a few old cars in the entrance of Palace House. The interest then spawned The Montgagu Motor Museum.

The late Montagu's father was the first MP to drive a vehicle into the grounds of Parliament.

On 3 July 1899, Montagu had driven a Daimler 10 H.P. into the precincts of the Houses of Parliament by an appeal to The Speaker.
But, read this quotation:
“I do not believe that the introduction of motor-cars will ever affect the riding of horses”!

The Honourable John Scott-Montagu, MP, 1906 in Parliament

Montagu's father was a director of DE DION-BOUTON BRITISH AND COLONIAL SYNDICATE LIMITED that was founded in 1899 and changed its name in 1901 to D-DION BOUTON LIMITED and then DE DION-BOUTON (1907) LIMITED, 9 March 1907.
