Guest JM2
In the opening sequence of the the 1926 Japanese silent film classic "A Page of Madness" by director Teinosuke Kinugasa, a car is shown driving through a rain storm with some kind of guard or skirt on each wheel.I'm thinking they must have been an attempt to minimize the splashing of roadside pedestrians as the car drove through puddles?Has anyone ever seen anything like these before, and if so, were they even remotely common in Japan, or anywhere else?Sorry about the way the screen snaps came out...
