Guest Outlaweyes
I have a (poor) photograph showing my father and an unknown woman, along with several cars that potentially could be identified. If I knew more about the cars, I might be able to tell more about when and where this photograph was taken. Can anyone help? Here is the photo. keiser31
1936 Ford facing the front.
West Peterson
The car on the far right looks like it could be around 1940-42.
Guest Outlaweyes
keiser31, that was a quick and firm response on, I'm sure you mean, the car they are leaning/sitting on. Is that a Model A rear end on the far left? And perhaps another Model A coming toward the camera in the street?
keiser31
Looks to be a 1929 Dodge on the left. The car coming up the street on the right looks to be about a 1926 or 1927 Ford T. Yes....the car being leaned on is the 1936 Ford.
Guest Outlaweyes
Incidentally, keiser31, I have a brother-in-law living in Medford and a sister-in-law living in Talent. We've got you surrounded.

Manuel
Can anybody read or ID the badges on the grill? The one on the right looks like a huge V8 badge which I have never seen before. The coupe on the left could be from the Chrysler or Studee families??And the one coming towards the camera does look Model A Fordish.Manuel in Oz
Dave Henderson
Keiser, Almost hate to bring this up, you are right-on almost always, but....that Ford coming up on the right is a Model A, probably 1930.
keiser31
I was thinking that the radiator on that one was taller than a Model A radiator.
Guest Outlaweyes
I have no idea if automobile manufacturers were as nuts that far back as they are now, so I don't know when a 1936 Ford would have been on the road. My father was born in January, 1915. So, he is at least 21 in this picture if the Ford wasn't sold until 1936. I can start checking where he showed up in various records about then.I appreciate everyone's help, and any additional info anyone comes up with. Dave Mellor NJ
That Ford appears to have a bug screen to which the emblems are attached. That coupe 1/4 window looks like mopar to me. As West said that sedan in the background looks like early 40s so your dad could be around 26-
Ben Bruce aka First Born
Agree with West. The sedan has a '41 GM look. Ben
Dave Mellor NJ
I originally said that coupe behind the subject's right arm was a mopar. I'm changing my mind to a 36 Chevy
Curti
I would say the coupe is 37-38 Chev due to the height of the windows.
Dave Mellor NJ
The 37-38 Chevy coupe has the same body with the kidney-shaped 1/4 window but it also has that clearly defined crease on the door which would show on the car in the OP. They also have a double molding above the beltline
Guest Foggy norm
That car sure has it's share of "bling". Fog light's, grill guard and a screen along with keeping it washed...lady's white coat. Is that an artillery wheel on the left car?
Guest Outlaweyes
Another source called that wheel a "wooden spoke artillery style" wheel.
Dave Henderson
That grille guard on the '36 Ford reminded me that there was one tucked away somewhere around here. I hunted it down for "show and tell"....they don't turn up often anymore. It is of tough spring steel and looks like it could have been another version for '33-'36 Fords. PM me if any interest.
