Juha Paavo Kaita
Here is another taxi photo from Turku. I would like you to help me identify this fine automobile.
Guest Casper Friedrich
A big Opel from the immediately pre-WWI period, in contrast to the ordinary smaller models they could be fitted with wire wheels. In von Fersen's book there is a 29/70 PS Doppelphaeton with these wheels and powered by a huge 7,5 liter engine. The taxi in Turku is probably of a smaller model, maybe with engine capacity of 3 or 4 liters.
Leif Holmberg
Here is an Opel from the end of pre war 1 period (1919) and this car has also been a taxi, but here in Sweden. Leif in Sweden.
Vintman
Difficult one this! Opel certainly had rads similar to the photo in the 1911 period but all photos I have show a tidy solution to wheel hub covers. Ones on the photo are a bit messy. Bodyshape of the bulkhead suggests cca 1912 and the Limousine body is also quite early as has separate windscreen. I tried removing the headlamps from the photo as below, but did not help much. Opel did have covered in mudguards at the time. Running board stays are Opelish. Still looking. Stoewer also fits-ish.RegardsVintman
