Offered for sale is this unrestored 1946 Cabriolet, pretty much complete with many extra parts - this car is solid except for the rear wheel wells which are rusted away - the floors are intact, there is the usual rust here and there - rear fenders are in decent shape. This car is an early 46 5EH-56-65 and was ordered here in Toledo Ohio by Robert A Stranahan Sr., the founder of The Champion Spark Plug Co, member of the Automotive Hall of Fame. The build sheet has "Mr S" written on it next to the invoice number. Stranahan is mentioned in the Edsel Ford biography (Henry Dominguez) as one of the early financial backers of the Stout Metal Airplane Co in the years leading up to the Ford Trimotor. Delivered thru the Toledo Bauer-Harrington dealership this car has the original black paint and red leather interior. This car belonged to my late uncle,

Tom Mauder, who as a youngster in Toledo would watch Mr. Stranahan tool past his school on his way to the Champion plant - it made quite an impression on him and gave him a serious case of Lincoln fever! Car was purchased by him in the summer of 1963 and has been in dry storage these

many years. V-12 included, transmission, many extra parts, including solid spare wheel wells, some new wiring and rubber parts, some NOS parts, and and extra set of very nice used grilles. Located in Toledo Ohio. $8500

1946 Lincoln serial numbers run from H136255 to H152389 That means 16,134

units produced - of these only 201 Cabriolets were made. #65 would be approaching midway through production...46 production of Continentals are just as rare as 42 models! It never seems that way because the 47 and 48s are much more numerous. Production card from The Benson Ford Research Center.

Too bad I am still in Germany or I would go for it. I am finally getting back to work on my 48 Continental Coupe after my accident last year and hope to have most of the body work finished by the end of this year. Harry
