You must bring something like buckets with cement, large containers of some kind with water in them or something similar to weigh down the tent. A few years ago some strong winds came through and picked up tents that weren't sercured and it was not a good situation. Pretty scary actually.

Thanks '37 and S.R.,

I suspected the grass fields of old had been paved, but wasn't sure of this one. My 10" log-spike tent stakes would have probably held really well...they just would have wrecked the asphalt and made weeds come up! 5-gallon buckets full of water or concrete sound better.

Jeff, Check with a local restaurant and see if you can get your hands on some of those industrial size jugs that cooking oil comes in. They have handles that people tie the straps/cords to. And when they are done they just dump the water out and don't have to haul that home. :rolleyes::D
