Guest kayz28
I have 2 Maxwell model 20 side lamps with the door that opens and looks like it runs on maybe propane...These were from my moms estate. Does anyone have any idea what these might be worth? Thank you in advance!
keiser31
You might just scroll down a bit to the Maxwell forum and ask there for a better opinion.
Rusty_OToole
They used acetylene, just like they use for welding today. The welding gas companies used to make small acetylene cylinders for cars and motorcycles. You could also get a gas generator that made acetylene from carbide and water.Should be worth a good price but I dont know how much.
MochetVelo
Usually, the side lamps are kerosene. If they are acetylene, there will be a valve and a nipple to connect the rubber gas tube. If kerosene, there will be a knob to raise the wick. I'm not familiar with a Maxwell Model 20.
