Sweepspear
I had this posted in the "What is it?" section, but didn't get much in the way of answers.I found these drums in the shed at my Mother's house while clearing out the estate.Dad at one time restored a '40 Lincoln Continental.Do these look like front hubs/drums for a Lincoln? In looking at them, I am not seeing any part numbers on them.If they are from a Lincoln, do they fit other Fords? Or are they Lincoln / year specific? I imagine they may be larger than standard Ford drums.I am planning on listing them for sale at some point. They look to be in very good condition. Nothing a quick clean up on a brake lathe won't cure. Thanks!

peecher
These look to be the rear drums and should be the same from 1940 to 1948
Phil Knapp
These drums will likely fit Fords and Mercurys from 1940 through 1948. Lincoln drums are the same size as Ford, except that Lincoln drums are finned for better cooling whereas Fords are not finned. I'm pretty sure that they can also be used on 1938 and 1939 Fords, Mercurys, and Lincolns if you switch from the VW size bolt circle to the standard Ford bolt circle used from 1940-1948. (Lincoln abandoned the VW size bolt circle in mid-1938).

peecher
Yes, Ford, Merc, and Lincoln rear drims and hubs up to '48 had roller bearings, They were also tapered and keyed for the axles and had a groove on the hub for a puller.
