1931 Series 60 Rear Brake Drum

Help! I need a right rear brake drum for our '31 Series 60. The existing drum is seriously scored and we don't think it can be turned. We are trying to get the car ready for the 2011 Great Race.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Just found out both rear drums are bad. One is gouges from the rivets and the other is warped!

Desperately need two rear 1931 Buick Series 60 drums. Will not be able to run the car in the Great Race in June. This will be the only Buick in the Race......We must not let the our Marque go unrepresented!!!!!

Hello Pat,

My father can help you out. Send me a private message and I will give you his contact information. He has two spare 1931 60 series chassis' and both have all brake drums intact.

He also has a couple original honeycomb radiators, a couple engines, a couple sedan doors, etc. He was considering building a 60 series old school street rod, but went another direction with that project.

Hollander says same drum on 1930 Series 40.

Using some creative engineering and slow and careful shaping we have been able to straighten both drums to accepatable tolerances.
