'26 Rear axle seals and bearings

I am working on a 1926 DB 4 door. A couple question...

The fill plug on the rear end is 2/3 of the way up on the differential and it is +/- 3/8". What is the proper oil level in the Diff? and how do you check it?

It has apparently been filled to the plug before because the brake shoes are soaked. Is there a modern seal for the rear axle? Are the axle bearings lubricated from the diff. or do we grease pack them like the fronts?

More questions to come, I'm sure.

Thanks.

Frank

Try

myers early dodge

or

romar

in an internet search. Each supply parts for our cars and each lists felt seals

Paul

Thanks Paul. Myer's list 6 per car. So we grease pack the bearings and put a felt inside and out?
