1946-48 DeSoto Customs.

Does anyone know, do the 1946-48 DeSoto Customs have a rear seat fold down arm rest? Also, do they have "toe boards"--the carpeted board underneath the back of the front seat that rear seat passengers can rest their feet on? -Jim

To my knowledge, the Desoto custom for those years did not have either of those 2 features. I have a 49 1/2 1st series(just like the 46-48) I also have a 46 Desoto Custom parts car. It does have a grab rope attached to the back of the front seats.

I have a '48 S-11 Custom and it has not drop down arm rest in the back. It is indented, however.

The grab rope is for hanging your lap robe. Also known as a robe rail. A lap robe is a plaid wool blanket for covering your knees in an unheated car, to keep warm. They went out when good heaters became available.

well i have a 48 suburban and there's a toe board of sorts in the back seat but its more a toe rod that's been carpeted.
