STAYGOLD
Anyone have any ideas what type of vehicle this is from. I found it in a box of parts that I bought from a gentleman that was into late teen and early 20's cars.Any ideas or help would be appreciated.Thanks. Layden B
Shape is the same as used on some early electric horns, curved side attaches to the horn and straight side bolts to firewall.
STAYGOLD
Thanks Layden....This piece was actually attached to an old Saxon Horn I have, but the mounting holes on the bracket do not line up with the bolt holes on the horn.....Is the brass piece actually part of the horn, or is it to identify something else on the car? Thanks for your input. Layden B
It can be readily assumed ( since it does not fit) that the Sparton horn was a replacement for the horn that was originally on this bracket. The cast in logo and numbers are from the original manufacturer of this part to identify it ( identical parts would have the same numbers). That manufacturer could have been the horn maker, auto maker or a third party supplier. In any case it is not an identifing VIN ( vehicle identification number) for the car that it was on. Vin numbers are typically stamped on (not cast) to frames, body, axles, or a plate with auto manufacturers info such as manufacturers name, location of manufacture, patent numbers or other vehicle info ( paint code, option codes, series, model).
